March has brushed past us like a soft breeze, and I’m pleased to present my completed piece at the end of it. I started ‘The Opening’ with a wish to create something rich and intricate, and with a twist of its own. Constructed without a compass (left it in London!), I based the geometry on a circle grid I’d drawn on card months ago. The watercolour background with gold accents was an afterthought based on previous work I’ve done, and I’m honestly liking the effect.

Except for the gold watercolour accents (or ‘flecks’), all the gold in this design is 18ct shell gold – also referred to as lemon gold. Amongst the motifs and vines, I’ve also included the symbol of the Blessed Sandal at the head of the piece in grey and gold.

Here are some images of this completed piece. Of course, do follow me on Instagram for more.
